CORROSIONS
PITTING TEST
On stainless steels and nickel and chromium based alloys immersed in a solution of ferric chloride, the mass loss, the average and maximum depth of the pits and their density on the faces of the sample are evaluated
CREVICE TEST
Corrosion in ferric chloride solution (FeCl3) at constant temperature and for a determined duration with application of elastomers to determine the mass loss and the average and maximum depth of the crevices
IDENTIFICATION OF DETRIMENTAL INTERMETALLIC PHASES
Calculation of the corrosion rate on specimens immersed in ferric chloride, usually for 24 hours at a constant temperature, depending on the weight loss, the dimensions of the specimen and the duration of the test
INTERGRANULAR CORROSIONS
Strauss Test, Huey Test and Streicher Test according to the type of alloy and with different durations and different solutions in order to test the resistance to this corrosive mechanism
